RESOLUTION

thanks to my dear cousin, Mark A. Russell
darkness hung
long, strangled
senses groped
tangled cloak
shedding ruined spells
gaping mouths
choked
crumbling incantations
sky careened
stars cried
moist prayers
crashed like siren songs
visions
shred to pieces
by the razor shafts of dawn
long, limp but drying
stand now
and face
the roaring Sun
stomachs blazing
eyelids squeezing
peeling smiles from blind lips
smile
blink
burn
alive
erupting orange frontier
a blister
in the giant death of the Sun
